1. Submit the Application
Complete and submit your application through the Coalition Application or Common Application platform. Use the UOS CEEB Code: 2672.
2. UOS-Specific Questions
In addition to the main application, all transfer applicants must complete the UOS-specific questions, which should be submitted online through the respective application website.
3. Graded Written Paper
Provide a graded paper from a course taken within the last two to three years. While an English or history paper is preferred, papers from humanities or social science courses are also acceptable if they meet submission requirements.
4. Application Fee or Fee Waiver
Applicants may submit the application fee or request a fee waiver. Fee waivers are available through the application platform, with approval required from a counselor or school official. Alternatively, select the UOS-specific fee waiver option on the UOS-specific questions section. Low-income students and current or former U.S. military service members are eligible for the UOS-specific fee waiver without additional approval.
Request
1. Official College Transcripts
Transcripts must be sent directly from the registrar’s office of all postsecondary institutions attended through a secure method.
2. Official High School Transcript
The high school transcript must be submitted by a counselor or school official directly from the issuing institution.
3. Transfer/College Report
This form is available on the Coalition Application or Common Application websites. It must be completed and submitted by your transfer counselor or school official.

Submit two letters of recommendation. At least one must come from a college instructor in a core academic subject (e.g., English, social sciences, natural sciences, or math). Professors or teaching assistants are acceptable recommenders.
Report
1. SAT or ACT
UOS follows a test-optional policy for transfer applicants for Spring 2025 and 2026. Standardized tests are not required for a complete application. If you choose to submit scores, tests should be taken by the end of March. Use the following codes to send your scores: SAT: 2672, ACT: 2588.
2. SAT Subject Tests
SAT Subject Tests are not required. However, if you took Subject Tests before they were discontinued in 2021, you may submit your scores.
3. English Proficiency Tests
Non-native English speakers must take the TOEFL, IELTS Academic, or PTE Academic if their primary language is not English and they attend a school where English is not the language of instruction. Applicants who have spent at least three years in a school where English is the primary language of instruction are exempt. TOEFL scores should be sent using code 2672.
Fee Waiver
UOS is committed to ensuring that the application process is accessible to all candidates, regardless of financial circumstances. Applicants from lower-income backgrounds or those for whom the application fee poses a financial hardship are eligible for a fee waiver. Additionally, the fee is waived for all applicants currently serving or who have served in the U.S. military.
How to Apply for a Fee Waiver
1. Application Platform Option:
Select the fee waiver option in the Coalition Application or Common Application. Your school counselor must approve the request online or submit the form by mail or fax.
2. UOS-Specific Fee Waiver Option:
Select one of the following options in the UOS-specific questions: UOS-specific, ACT, College Board, or NACAC. Low-income students and military-affiliated applicants are automatically eligible for the UOS-specific waiver without needing counselor approval. QuestBridge Finalists should select the QuestBridge fee waiver.
Once your fee waiver request is processed, your UOS Applicant Portal checklist will reflect that your fee waiver has been granted. Applying for a fee waiver will not impact your application status or evaluation in any way.
Application Confirmation
After submitting your application, you will receive a confirmation notice within 24–48 hours. This notice will include details about your Applicant Portal, where you can track the receipt of required materials and the completeness of your application. The portal becomes available for tracking in mid-October. If your application is incomplete, you will be informed about missing documents.
Applicants may apply for financial aid only after submitting an admission application. Please refer to the Application Dates and Deadlines for more information.
In general, the Office of Admission will not review applications submitted more than three times. If an application fee was submitted for a fourth attempt, it will be refunded.
UOS follows a holistic admission process, evaluating each applicant’s entire file without assigning fixed weights to specific factors. The review considers your academic achievements, talents, and potential contributions to the university community.
